Registration Information
This year, we will limit the Main Competition to the first 560 students (or 70 full teams) that register. The Power Competition will be limited to around 20 teams that register, with special consideration given to international teams. Teams that register afterwords will automatically be put on a waiting list in case more space becomes available. Teams placed on the waitlist will be notified of their status by e-mail. Individual schools, regions, and organizations will be limited to two teams to start with, and the other registered teams will be put on the waiting list.
Although we are having two different competitions this year (the Main Competition and the Power Competition), registration for both will be on the same registration form. Once registration opens, a link will be made available for teams to register. The registration page that link directs you to is the registration page for BOTH the competitors of the Main Competition and competitors of the Power Competition.
Please note: Even if your "teams" page on the registration site has more than two teams listed, only the first two will be automatically accepted unless more are taken off of the waitlist.
Fees
The fees vary depending on what competition your team will be competing in.
The Main Competition
The registration fee is $12.50 per student for teams registered before the registration deadline of Friday, October 23rd, 2009, for a total of $100 per full team. Thereafter, teams must pay the late registration of $18.50 per student, for a total of $150 per team. No registrations will be accepted after the final deadline of Friday, October 30th, 2009.
The Power Competition
The registration fee is $5 per student for teams registered before the registration deadline of Friday, October 23rd, 2009, for a total of $4 per full team. Thereafter, teams must pay the late registration of $7.50 per student, for a total of $60 per team. No registrations will be accepted after the final deadline of Friday, October 30th, 2009.
General Fee Rules and Guidelines
All registration fees must be postmarked by Friday, November 6th, 2009. Teams that register before the regular deadline need only pay the regular fee even if they pay after the regular deadline.
If a team does not pay before the final deadline, we may replace the non-paying team by a team on the waiting list.
If a team pays its fees and then must withdraw, we will give a full refund, so long as the we are notified of the withdrawal by November 6th, 2009. We will not offer refunds to teams that withdraw after November 6th, 2009.
The first five teams on the waiting list will be asked to make a deposit of the registration fee to ensure that they can replace teams that withdraw or fail to pay. If a team on the waiting list does not actually get to compete, the deposit will be returned in full and promptly.
