About AoPS

The Art of Problem Solving Corporation, created in 2003 by Richard Rusczyk '93, provides unique opportunities in mathematics to high school students around the world. They offer several excellent books and online classes, mostly geared toward problem solving and math contests.

Another hugely popular AoPS production is the public forum. Free for everyone, the Art of Problem Solving Forum merged with the Romanian Olympiad website mathlinks.ro several years ago to become one of the largest online mathematics communities. The Forum features subforums for middle school, high school, and undergraduate math contests; college level math topics; arts and sciences; and general fun. Tens of thousands of problems in a wide range of fields and difficult levels have been posted on the forum.

The Art of Problem Solving also hosts an AoPSWiki on its site. The AoPSWiki is an ongoing project to put some of the vast resources of the AoPS forum and its users into the wiki format.

Princeton Forum

This club has a subforum for the math contest. We advertise the contest to the students on the forum, and we also have a private forum for discussion of administrative details and writing of questions. This is because the forum is LaTeX-enabled, which is useful. To obtain access to the private forum, please create an AoPS account and email nsavir_at_princeton_dot_edu with your user name and your real name.

Math Jams

The Art of Problem Solving hosts its classes in moderated chats on its website. The system remains idle outside of classtime, so occasionally the Corporation or other parties hold informal Math Jams on various topics. Companies seeking mathematicians occasionally hold informational sessions so that students interested in math can have more information about future careers.

Also, forum members have organized a series of college-level math jams on their own. The purpose of these jams is a combination of having fun with math and preparing for the Putnam. The first Math Jam will be hosted by Simon Rubinstein-Salzedo, a student at the University of California at Santa Barbara (and ComplexZeta on AoPS).
