== Certificates ==
We used to rely on our own unsigned SSL certificates for Math web servers and e-mail but as of recently we have replaced them with [http://certs.ipsca.com/ ipsCA]'s signed certificates. ipsCA is generously providing high quality free SSL certificates to educational institutions.

All recent browsers and e-mail clients have appropriate root certificate that can be used to verify identity of our servers. Therefore no additional importing of certificates should be required. If you encounter any problems with our SSL certificates please let us know (like if your browser or e-mail client cannot recognize or verify our SSL certificate).

== Connect to Math/PACM systems remotely ==
There are a number of different ways to access Math/PACM systems and services - login servers, computational machines, E-mail, files on file server and others. Here are some of these ways:

1. Begin by clicking the apple in the top left corner of your screen, and selecting "System Preferences"

4. Fill out the form as you see in the screen shot below. Make sure you change the Protocol to "IPP" and in the queue field be sure to type "printers/PRINTERNAME" substituting PRINTERNAME for the name of the printer you are connecting to (i.e. fine318, fine205), then click "add". Also, give the printer a name that will help you remember where it is. == Linux printer names and variants ==
On Fine Hall Linux workstations and servers printer names are just room numbers, as listed in the first column of the above table.

By default all printing from Linux is duplex, i.e. printer will use both sides of the paper. If you want to print one sided then you can add a letter s to the name of your chosen printer. For example you can print to 305s or 1111s.

If you are having problems with printing certain files, especially certain acrobat pdf documents, where when you print them nothing comes out of the printer then you can try printing with pcl driver. In order to do that add pcl to the name of the printer. For example if you are trying to print to 511 then use 511pcl instead.

While you may find other printers on <tt>printserver.math.princeton.edu</tt> they are private printers reserved for use by their owners so please do not try to use them.

Note also that all of Fine Hall printers default to duplex (double sided) printing so you may have to change your printer settings if you want to print single sided.

Example instructions on how to setup one of these printers, for example fine305, on your computer follow. First click on "Start" button (1) and then on "Run" (2):

While you may find other printers on <tt>finehallprint</tt> they are private printers reserved for use by their owners so please do not try to use them.

Note also that all of Fine Hall printers default to duplex (double sided) printing so you may have to change your printer settings if you want to print single sided.

== Detailed instructions ==
Example instructions on how to setup one of these printers, for example fine305, on your computer follow. First click on "Start" button (1) and then on "Run" (2):

In the "Run" window that will come up type the printer address from above table in "Open" (1). In our case for printer 305 it is ''<tt>\\finehallprint\fine305</tt>''. Then click on "OK" (2):

Your computer will then attempt to connect and it may ask you to confirm the installation with a dialog that resembles the following where you should click on "Yes" (1):

That's it - you should now be able to use this printer.

Example instructions on how to setup one of these printers, for example fine305, on your computer follow. First click on "Start" button:

In the area shown below type the printer address \\printserver.math.princeton.edu\fine305.

If you are using wireless this window will pop up and enter your information.

It will ask you to install driver and click Install driver.
